What Can I Do to Help

Commercialize Fuel Cells?

Encourage the Presidential Candidates to continue their support - Learn the candidates views on fuel cells and hydrogen by reading our compilation of news clips and quotes. Ask the candidates to continue supporting hydrogen and fuel cells - send an e-mail from the campaign's comments page:

Notify your Congressman - Lawmakers control the funding and legislation that help with fuel cell and hydrogen research and development as well as implementation and demonstration. Encourage your Representative and Senator to support fuel cell installation tax credits and full appropriations to energy bills. Find out if they are a part of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus - if not, ask why.
Find your Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives
Senators of the 110th Congress

Find out what is going on in your area - check out our database of U.S. policy and demonstrations to see what initiatives and installations are in your state. If there isn't much activity, see what other states are doing and encourage your local and federal lawmakers to follow suit. See the technology first hand by visiting a hydrogen fueling station or fuel cell installation (like NY's Central Park police station) or schedule a visit to a company involved in the industry located near you. There are loads of fuel cell and energy conferences around the world - see if any are in your area, some conferences and exhibitions are free to attend or have ride and drives and public events.

Buy one - Fuelcellstore.com has a lot of available fuel cells and components to purchase. We have a list of educational fuel cell kits in our Career and Education Center. If you have a specific project or installation in mind, you could also contact the companies directly.

Read and learn - our Fuel Cell Library has lots of articles, reports and information on fuel cells and hydrogen. We have compiled answers to some of the questions people are asking and statements critics are making. Our conference presentations contain informative charts and graphs. You can subscribe to our free newsletters via the sidebar on the right - we publish a monthly Fuel Cell Technology Update and the Fuel Cell Quarterly. DOE has a great collection of technical papers as well. Take a short course, seminar or workshop to increase and hone your knowledge on fuel cells and hydrogen.

Spread the word - write a letter to the editor of your local paper, especially if you have seen a fuel cell in action. Use www.fuelcells.org to find fact sheets, images, charts to show your friends how fuel cells are being used all over the world in various applications.
