Metro Mold & Design (MM&D) is a medium-sized, privately held plastic mold tool builder and molder that has focused on the fuel cell industry as a major area of interest since 1997.  The company offers plastic injection molding, compression molding, extrusion blow molding and precision high speed machining, and is currently producing blank graphite plates or machined or net shape molded graphite bipolar plates in both low temp and high temp PEM materials.  In addition, MM&D produces a wide range of other balance of plant components such as stack end endplates, spacers, plug connectors, blow molded containers and other plastic components for the fuel cell industry.  They are a contract manufacturer that does not offer proprietary products of its own, focusing exclusively on building customer-designed parts to order.  MM&D is a supplier of graphite plates for low temp and high temp PEM and Direct Methanol fuel cell applications along with balance of plant parts.  They can provide machined plates in graphite materials for lower volume applications or we can provide quotes for tooling and net shape molded plates for higher volume applications.
